Vale Dr Trevor Mitchell: 1933 – 2026

Vale Dr Trevor Mitchell - Aged 92 years

Trevor Mitchell was a Sydney anaesthetist who played with the Sydney University Baseball Club in the early 1950’s. He was a great character and younger brother of Dr Colin Mitchell who was a 1st Baseman and Claxton Shield representative in the late 1940’s.

Trevor was for many years an alumni donor to SUBC.

There was a story about Trevor who was a playing in a Club game at Mosman Oval, circa 1955. One of our base runners stole second base and as he slid into the base there was a loud ‘crack’. A shout from the field “We need a doctor” and the call went to Trevor, then a student. Trevor replied from the dugout, “Nothing I can do, it’s broken”.

Adored husband of Judi. Much loved father and father in law of Helen & Graham and Annmaree & Michael.
Cherished grandfather of Alex, Jay, Matthew, Kate and Lucy.

RIP Dr Trevor.
