2025 Preseason Updates - Trials, Past vs Present, New Teams and Sports Awards

Winter 2025 is well and truly heating up for Sydney Uni Baseball. Over the last few weeks we’ve had over 100 players trial for the club’s winter teams, including 40 Sydney Uni Students at a Come and Try baseball day at Sydney Uni. This puts us in the position to field 3x Sydney Winter Baseball League teams and 3x Pacific Coast Baseball League teams. Unprecedented!

Before our season begins, we are hosting our annual Past vs Present scrimmage match. All who have previously played for the club are welcome to take the field in the Past team. Please email usydbaseball@gmail.com so we can confirm lineups.

Details of the day:

Saturday April 26 @ Petersham - first pitch 10:30am, as the PCBL home opener follows at 12:30pm, where the club will put on beers and a bbq.

The SWBL season will kick off on May 3rd, with our biggest home game of the year, our Community Day round, happening on May 10. Always a good day with music, raffles, pampering for the fans and free lunch for the kids, this year we will support Child Action Lanka.

Finally, Wednesday the 2nd of April saw the club well represented at the annual Sydney Uni Sports Awards. We had nominations in the categories for Club of the Year, Coach of the Year (Mitch Liddle), Male Sportsperson of the Year (Zak Elvy), and a winner for the Male Administrator of the Year (Ben Warnock). Congratulations to all.
